After holding off for as much as I could till things settled down, I''ve set a personal ''deadline'' of sorts to propose to my amazing gf in mid-September. Not sure if this is feasible, but I''m hoping you guys & gals can help make my process more efficient. I barely have time for anything outside of work these days, so your help is greatly appreciated! On to the details...

Looking for a 1.5 - 2.0 ct princess, eye clean SI to save some $, and probably a G or H set in white gold. Budget is around $13k for the stone and I''m willing to stretch it a little to get the right size/cut combo. Overall, I''m willing to compromise on everything except cut. Weight is probably the 2nd most important factor for me in this search. One question I had though came up when I saw this H/SI on HPD Are H''s really that yellowish in person or is this pronounced in the video b/c the white background?

I''d call Wink and ask him about that Infinity you posted. It looks stunning and definitely a fireball, but if you are concerned about the H color I''d call him and talk to him about it. It does look like that background isn''t doing the color any favors.

Also, you can have Wink send to you, decide what you think, then send it back for setting if you like it. For me it would be worth it to have the piece of mind.

Any thoughts about this one?http://www.whiteflash.com/princess/Princess-cut-diamond-2119038.htm

I can not tell you why, but some days my videos all look yellowish and other days even an M looks to be nearly white. I can tell you for sure that the diamond in question does NOT look at all yellowish to the eye.

I wish I was able to make them always look exactly the same and to show their true color, but at least I am able to show you their sparkle...

See, asking the man himself, always gets you to the bottom of things. Looks stunning from all the pics and the IS and the (and very sparkly from the videos) and it''s an Infinity.

How are you gonna set it?

Thats a gorgeous Princess!

Looks nice.

Cindy, I did see that one in my search, but I''m wondering about the ASET on that one. I thought the reds should be maximized, with little green and very little black. That stone looks to have a lot of black coming through?

Thanks for the info, Wink..it''s a front runner in my mind currently. But again, I''m confused on how to properly assess ASET and IS images. There''s a lot of green (more or equal to amount of red) in the ASET -- is that not quite what''s considered ''ideal'' (subjectively speaking)?

Setting -- I''m thinking a solitaire. Very simple/classic, but might look into something that has a very limited amt of side stones. Originally was thinking of a halo (to make it look bigger), but she saw her friend''s engagement ring (cushion in a halo setting) and hated it lol.

If anyone comes across any other stones, please do post. I don''t know..why''s it seem like there''s a very limited selection out there for nicely cut princesses in this range?

Nissan,

The infinity stone is nice too! But its a different Princess pattern to the one i suggested. I prefer 3 chevron (crushed ice look) rather than 2 chevron :D

Nothing wrong with the ASET of the stone i suggested. The pattern is not as symmetrical as I would like, but it has a nice even distribution of red in the ASET.

Both stones look nice, and the ASET on the Infinity is nothing to worry about. Infinity princesses are cut to extremely high standards. Sometimes for some reason the ASET doesn''t seem to reflect that; however, in the case of Infinity princesses, you can trust your eyes.
