Need thoughts on man''s band pics included

I need thoughts on this ring. It is a 6mm comfort fit 14kt white gold ring with satin finish. It comes to $644.00 (tax included).

I know the pics aren''t great but:
1. Is the price reasonable?
2. Is it normal that 14kt is stamped on the band twice? (I know that is a weird question)
3. Is it possible to take the ring somewhere to make sure it is indeed really gold?
4. How long does it take fpr finish to come of, and if it is just scrathes on the band, how is it that it comes off anyway.
5. The jeweler said they would be able to resize this band if need be, but how is that possible with the band (how will that affect the ridges in the design, will they still be equally separated?)

Your input is appreciated.
