I am looking for some help in deciding on a stone. The more I learn and read, the more confused I get. I don''t know if this stone is a good value and could use some advice.

It is a 1.92, E color certified by IGI, SI1 (but more like an SI2 given a feather inclusion I see under 10X) with a [large] table diameter of 64.5%, a crown height of 12%, pavillion depth of 44%, thin to medium faceted with very good polish, symmetry and proportions and no culet. The spread makes the stone look large for its size. The price is $12,800. Any advice is appreciated.

what is total depth?

Total depth is a little over 59% .....

Ambiv, welcome to the forum.

You probably realize that stone is far from ideal: large table and a bit deep pavilion depth.

However, if you done your homework and compared this stone with others, it is your decision.

You might also want to verify the grades with an independent appraiser who doesn't sell diamonds.

Stone seems to be IGI Antwerp graded, which is usually fairly accurate. The cut is far from ideal, but it could be an attractive and spready stone. So I think it could possibly be a good value, depending on how it looks. How does it look to you?

The stone looks pretty good, but the large table seems to affect the brilliance, compared to similar stones with more ideal cuts. The inclusion is visible from the top, to the naked eye (once you know it is there). The spread is great, but I am at a loss to determine if it is just a fair price (given the proportions) or a great deal ....
