Hi everyone,
I am a newbie in this forum.
Currently in the midst of searching loose diamond for my engagement ring.
I have been through a couple of recommended wholesaler, these are the few diamonds which I have shortlisted.

I have a total of 4 diamonds, 2 from Whiteflash and 2 direct from wholesaler (GIA cert attached)

Thank you so much in advance :P

I would also peek around at BGD's website again only in house diamonds, they have a symbol next to them, and you would have to call for the pricescope discount :) http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/

Those diamonds from WF are, as farmer said, not in-house. You can get nice stones at good prices going this route, but you really have to know what you're doing/trust your vendor, have plenty of time for the search, be prepared for some disappointments and to spend for shipping multiple stones, and recognise that vendors may not apply the same policies as their in-house pre-vetted stones come with.

No go on the "wholesaler" stones - in a stone of that size I'm not terribly comfortable with such a shallow crown/thin girdle combo, don't like the second either, need more info on the WFs.

Thank you so much for your help, now I know that I am not getting the best deal from Wholesaler.
I will just stick with the online reputable vendor.
I also noticed that all the prices for reputable online vendor are quite uniform, including the shipping and other relevant costs to Australia.
I will do some homework and come back with few other options.

Re: need some opinion on this diamond choice, thank you

Hi everyone

While waiting for the ideal scope image, I've received this email from JA, as per following

Thank you for your patience while waiting for the gemologist inspection of diamond 1435886. I have good news as well as some bad news. The good news is that this diamond is icy white, perfectly eye clean, and has excellent light performance. Visually, you've selected a beautiful diamond that will look great in any setting.

The bad news is that this diamond has been certified by both GIA (as you were aware by the lab certificate on our website) as well as IGI. The diamond was inscribed with its IGI number as well the phrase "The Love Diamond" after GIA certified it. If the added inscription, which has causes the GIA certificate to be inaccurate doesn’t bother you, then this diamond will be a great option for you. However, if you are looking for a diamond that will perfectly match its lab certificate, you'll want to continue your search.

*does this really matters, this is my first diamond ring*

In the event that you would like to continue your search, I've taken the liberty of completing a diamond search for you and would like to suggest taking a look at diamond 1431035: http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/G-VS2-Ideal-Cut-Round-Diamond-1431035.asp...... This diamond has an excellent cut, polish, and symmetry and should over you great light performance. It will face perfectly eye clean and have a comparable color performance to your current selection.

In the meantime, I also attached the suggested diamond by JA, however is a G colour, I am looking at something like E/F, will this really affect?

I really like that JA 1.05 F SI1! I personally would not care, presumably you aren't looking to sell it soon, and it's an inscription that doesn't affect the value or grading of the stone. If you do decide to sell you might have to jump through some hoops first to get it re-evaulated with an updated report.

The 1.06 G VS2 is fine as well, though I personally prefer the patterning on the original 1.05 F.

Don't like the 1.01 F VS2, get more info/pics for the E SI1, the other 1.02 F VS2 also looks fine.

Finally , I have received the ideal scope image for this diamond - 1.05 carat , however the added inscription - 'the love diamond' is not on the GIA cert. I am not looking to sell the diamond at all since this will be my engagement ring, so maybe this doesn't matter too much

Give me some guide whether this will be the one.

Thank you so much

Bump bump bump
Helpppppppppp =)

IMO the 1.05 is the best option by far.

Second opinion anyone?
How about the ideal scope image? all good?
I am afraid that I am making a wrong decision.

Thank you

The idealscope image is good. Should be a beautiful stone.
