Just got engaged!! Fiance totally suprised me with a beautiful diamond from BN, that we found out while looking for the right setting at a local place might not be as ideal as it had been represented. He told me that I can help him pick so we are both mind clean about it. After the problems, we most likely will not go back to bluenile but are keeping options open.

He has been looking through pricescope for some time and I have done a lot of research here to but would love some opinions.

We are looking for something in the 1-1.5 carat range. (Budget around 6200 for diamond) I of course would really love an AGS0. I don''t know that I am particularly color or clarity sensitive just would love a stone that sparkles and has character

Through everything, I feel very partial to an AGS graded stone.. mainly because of this incident but need to get over it!!

What do you think of these three so far from whiteflash?

Jamie at WF has looked at the first two, totally eye clean and white :)

Welcome to Pricescope,

The first two diamonds look great! If Jamie rates them then I would value her opinion! I am sure it is fine, the diamonds have a very thin area of the girdles noted, just check with her that it is ok. The last diamond doesn't appear to be an in house stone, so they might need to call it in if you wanted to investigate further.

Thanks Lorelei!

The third is actually in house and she will be posting pictures soon. It is also an ES.

What do you think about the I/SI1?

I have a question - the 2 stones she chose have Strong Blue Fluorescence, and the other is Medium - from what I think I understand

, which isn''t all that much, the blue helps make the stone look whiter - but I thought slight blue Fluorescence is "better"? I looked at the tutorial for Fluorescence but wanted to make sure since I have these three to compare!

I wish I had that budget!

Strong blue can help a diamond face up whiter it is said, as can medium blue. Faint/ slight isn't thought to have that much of an effect, no amount is better than another it can be a preference thing. Very rarely, strong blue can make a diamond look cloudy in some lights, but this is very unusual, plus a vendor with in house diamond such as Whiteflash would have checked the diamonds with SB carefully anyway.

Good question! I would love to know. By the way I specified these stones for her take a look at them for me, she didn''t pick them. I have just been compiling a little list so far but can use help!!

Also, here is the ideal scope for the 1st.

They all look good to me! You would of course need a picture and ASET for the third to compare them all. In my opinion, these are all so similar that I''d choose the second, simply because it''s almost as big as the third, but less expensive.

Kel, see if you can post the pics of the actual diamonds also, they all look good. Also size can be a factor here when deciding, but you could also ask Jamie which diamond has the most '' flair'' which could help your decision perhaps.

Here are the pictures the first two:

Oops! Here is the Larger 1.155 G/SI1

They all look great, I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. Which one are you leaning towards?

hi,
I noticed that according to the cert. the second diamond has a fluor. of strong yellow. You may want to look into how that will effect the color of the stone.

Yep, I would imagine Jamie would have checked this diamond out carefully to include the yellow fluorescence, but best to clarify. Also for the sake of completeness, if the grade maker of that diamond is a cloud, just ask Jamie if there is an adverse affect on the diamond, I highly doubt it, but check anyway.

I had concerns about that as well-- both Jamie and (John?) looked at it and said that it in no way affected to color eyclean and white, though she did say that the other two, 1st and 3rd were better performers. So leaning toward the first. I would really love to get around that size though 1.25-- but thats maybe why the price was way down on that 2nd stone?

The 3rd one is big and beautiful!

Skippy,
Do you know much about the ideal scope images? From my research that 3rd stone (1st ideal scope image) is just beautiful in the picture-- there aren''t the white triangles like the other two-- do you think thats better than the 1st stone?

Well if it were me I would as WF which was the nicest. I would also like the biggest, but that is me.

I think you said you wanted a 1.25 so the middle would would be nice especially when Jamie and Bob said the fluor does not effect the whiteness. I bought a stone from them and I am quite happy!
