I have bought two spessartines of different color but with the same cut and from the same provider. Both of them are very nice. Question: should I combine them with a sapphire in a ring?

Two spessartines side by side. IRL one is bright yellow and the other one orange.

or a ring with a chrome diopside as a bridge between the two stones

Or make earrings with two diopsides hanging off the spess.?

Or leave it in the box?

What about silver stacking rings so you can mix and match?

I like the stacking rings idea more. Mounting the colors together sort of limits them to certain outfits.

Another vote for the stacking rings idea, in either yellow gold or yellow gold/silver vermeil.

I vote earrings!

I like how the two spesses look next to each other. I would do stackers or a bypass ring.

I like the stacking rings idea too. You could mix and match.

A totally weird suggestion but how about another round stone with a red colour so you’ll have a gradual colour shift from yellow – orange – red? You can either set it as a 3 stone ring or a pendant.

No, actually this is what I was thinking of, too, but I can not find a red one of the same cut/color. I can wait, though...In real life, the red-orange one has no brown modifiers and is very bright. It looks like a fox''s tail. This is why I like spessartites! They are so fiery, so brilliant!

A bypass ring with two spess. mounted between the ring "tails"? or at the end of them each? (I hope I expressed it clear. I do not know how to name the two parts of the bypass ring.)

P.S. Virgoruby, my 6, year old really likes your ladybug. Kismet, he also likes your cat!

How about getting the same cutter to source the rough and cut it for you? This way, the cutting style/pattern will match perfectly.

I like the stacking idea best too - they''re lovely colours!

With the stacking rings - I hope people understand - they are pretty big, approx. 7 mm. in diameter, so I have to find very slim "stackers". I can ask one of our cutters. Or the person I bought it from.

Actually, I like "stoplight" phenomenon.

Since I am traveling to Russia I can take them with me. Not a good idea for more expensive stones but jewelry work is cheaper there and gold is cheaper as well.

I like the idea of a bypass ring. My mother has one from the 40s which two different colored stones.

+1 for stacking rings.

I was thinking of something like this.

Ditto Kismet on the bypass ring, since the stones are fairly big. They would make amazing stackers, though!
