Hey everyone,

I just started reading PS forums for about a week so I'm still somewhat of a newbie and could use some help.

So I'm looking for a diamond with a 13-15k budget.

I'm thinking something in the 1.7-1.85 carat range. Ideal/excellent cut and something in the G/H/I color range and SI1/SI2 clarity.

I'm trying to get an eyeclean SI2 to save some money but what is the best way to go about this? Any recommendations or suggestions as far as diamonds or online vendors would be much appreciated.

I know James Allen has actual pics but what about the other reputable online vendors? How do you get a good read for which SI1/SI2 stones to buy if those vendors only show the GIA report?

Thanks so much!

No way to tell from just the inclusions mapping information if a stone is eye-clean or not. Best to ask the vendors and know what is their definition of eye-clean.

I would not buy an SI2 (or even SI1)from a drop shipper who does not have magnified images of the stone. I have ruled out many on the James Allen site just from the photos. Aside from James Allen, WhiteFlash and Good Old Gold have very good diamond images where you can get an idea about the inclusions. And all of their in-house stones can be pulled out and you can have the inclusions described for you.

I am actually not seeing anything with your specs at the usual vendors with pics, but I did find this one which has great clarity and the bonus of fluorescence that may boost the color of the stone to make it look whiter!

They are having a sale through the end of the month that will bring down the price of that stone:

Or this one which would not be on sale:

Thanks for the suggestions diamondseeker.

So is a strong blue flourescence something that's desired in both H and I colors? I know I read somewhere that they can make the diamond appear hazy in a D,E,F color diamond.
