Hi,
if you have 3D smart TV with passive or active glasses and can connect your computer by HDMI , please run below couple video and inform about your experience .

I need select TV between active and passive stereo classes. For our test on computer screens the active glasses gives much better results than passive glasses. But active glasses have many disadvantages if we have to use TV

Thanks

^I can't comment on viewing your videos using active or passive, but in my experience with TVs, passive looks great nowadays. There's alot of depth and the disparity produced by the panels nowadays are really coming together. I don't see a great advantage with active now...

Passive glasses are the ones they give you at the cinema - they polarize. The experience is not as good as Active glasses. I have a lap top with one of these screens, so can demo this when at Vegas JCK show for tradies, and at the GTG for the Pscopers who are going.

Active are the big heavy ones that have battery's or USB plugs for recharging. They alternately stop you seeing from one eye, then the other about 60 times a second. This gives you a better 3D experiance.
Diamonds seen in video's this way are remarkably real.

Hi Serg, I have a 3D TV with passive glasses, I was just logging off for the night, but I'll take a look for you tomorrow and let you know what my experience was.

Ok, I couldn't wait until morning, so I installed the Movie Viewer and took a look. This is really really cool! :appl: I wish that I could give you a comparison to active glasses, but it's impressive with passive!

That's what I was thinking, C. My buddy has a newer passive set and it's quite impressive.

I agree 100% Titan. We purchased a 3D TV as a gift for my 12yo for Christmas this year, and we shopped around for months and months, going back and forth between passive and active and ended up going passive and it has been amazing. I don't get the headaches that I get when viewing 3D on my brothers Sony which uses active glasses. The passive glasses are so much lighter and cheaper! We bought 10 pair on amazon for less than $20!!

NICE!!! Can I be your son too??? Lucky kid to have parents as cool as you! I have been told by many people how nauseous they feel when watching 3d, especially on active sets. It can be overwhelming!

If I'm not mistaken LG is the only company with the patent for the passive glasses via the 3d tv's. Perhaps I'm mistaken? I have the Sony with the active 3d glasses. Sorry I will not be able to make it this year. I'd really love to see what you have to present Garry.

Sorry, I can't view those files on my TV. I can tell you that we bought two passive 3D TVs (Toshiba and LG) and sold one and returned the other before deciding on an active 3D TV (Panasonic plasma). The active 3D looks much better, has much more depth and we think it is worth the hassle of having batteries in the glasses.

No we have a Vizio, I don't know if you need the model # for anything but it's 53D320VX and it worked great! I had no trouble downloading the movie player or either of the videos.

Jonathon My brothers Sony uses active but our Vizio uses passive. I have no idea if this is correct, but when we were discussing the quality of a Vizio, I was told that it was owned by LG? I may be mistaken as well. But we have been very happy with it....when we are allowed to use it.
