Hi! This is my first post, sadly I''ve been a lurker for a few months. I''ve been working with Whiteflash, I have read so, so many great things about them on here and figured I couldn''t go wrong. I''m looking for a round stone around 1.5 cts, color F - H, clarity SI1 - SI2. So, I get a call from them today and there is a stone that is a distinct possibility. According to the woman I spoke with the numbers are great, not perfect enough to be an ACA, but definitely worth it. Info off the cert is as follows:

7.34 - 7.38 X 4.59mm
1.51 H SI2
Polish - Exc
Symmetry - VG
Depth 62.2
Table 55
Crown 34 degrees, 15%
Pavillion 41.2 degrees, 43.5%

Here''s the thing, when I enter the numbers into the HCA using angles for the crown and pavillion I get a 3, very good on everything, but if I use the percentages I get 1.4. According the the HCA, angles are more accurate, so I am more inclined to believe that this is truly a 3, but on the flip side, WF said according to the numbers it would be a great stone.

I''m confused as to whether or not I should have this stone called in. They have confirmed that it is eye clean (it''s someone that work with quite often and are not expecting any problems in reference to different definitions for eye clean).

I was going to call them back to give them my cc# and have the stone brought in until I ran it through the HCA.

What does everyone here think?

Thanks!

I guess it depends on your budget, how long you have to keep looking for a stone, and how much time you might want to put into it. I''ve sifted through the virtual listings a lot and it is quite possible to find great stones. Fo me personally, unless the price was what I wanted it to be, I would pass on this one and keep looking myself.

If you can post what specs you want, color, size etc, and if you are comfortable posting your budget, lots of people might look for stones for you. I''d give it a go for fun!

Could be a gorgeous stone.

I wouldn''t eliminate it until I''ve seen it personally. I also would tend to put a lot into Whiteflash''s personal opinion regarding the stone. They''re pretty straight shooters.
