I am looking for an Emerald cut diamond for myself. I have always wanted one and now I have the funds to buy one due to a W/C injury that has caused permanent injury. The ring is a personal issue. After visiting many jewerly stores, I have almost decided on one .--- Here is what I have ALMOST decided on. I do not want to be had!----
****--- Might be the right one**** Emerald cut--.70--VS2--E----5.79x4.67x2.97-- laser inscribed---will be set in a Platinum ring-- thick in appearance--4 prong--- Euro setting
Emerald cut---.55--VS2---E---5.34x4.15x2.86 -- Laser Inscribe--- same Platinum ring as above.
After visiting many jewery stores this is what I have decided---
If they offer you something to drink--- you will be paying big bucks for that drink. ---- I don''t take rudeness when spending my money!!!------I went to a highly recommended jewery store. I ask to see the owner who I have chatted with last month. He had showed me some loose diamonds and we had spoke business. He must have been stressed out. He was very rude when he ask me if I was being taken care of, as one of his female staff was helping me.-- All I said was " She''s doing fine". He replied very rudely and saricast(sp) that she knew more about diamonds than he proably. So---- they will not get my business!
Most stores that I have visited have had excited engaged couples. Many want to see the BIG diamond as well as the multi--diamond rings.--- I am always a party of one. even though I am 50 plus years , happily married.---- I find it difficult to be waited on . I guess I am not the usual customer.
Can I bargain with Cash in my pocket?-- One place will only give me 2% discount.
This site has taught me so much! Thanks for any advice!----Mrsgardener

You are definitely not alone!

Would Pricescope work? You might find some older posts reporting similar treatment and the reports end up with an online purchase... If the prices work out only you can tell at this point. On the other hand, find better quotes elsewhere (including here) may help to bargain. It happens all the time - although it may not tbe the most pleasant exercise. But...it sounds like the seller you found didn''t care to make a difference in that department anyway.

What are the other stats for these two? Who certified these high grades? Did you get to see more grades (does F look different?)? About 1000 questions come to mind

The laser inscription thing doesn''t stryke me as terribly important - you could have any diamond inscribed with whatever you want upon request.

Compared to

Emerald cut--.70--VS2--E----5.79x4.67x2.97

THIS is quite a bit larger.

Emerald cut---.55--VS2---E---5.34x4.15x2.86

This one is rather large for the weight to begin with, but there''s always a competing choice (0.59cts, E-VS1 6.25 x 4.03 x 2.61 mm ).

Prices and grades & all would depend quite a bit on what lab issued those grades, and that I couldn''t have guessed...
