Hi everybody,

I am new to this forum. I learned a lot from this forum.
I am in the middle of finalizing OEC diamond purchase with local jeweler.

Could you please give me some advices or confirm what the jeweler told me?

She claimed it's D, VS1, OEC. The price is a bit "too good to be true."

I took some pictures of the diamond, as much as I can.
Could you please let me know your opinion how good is it, and how much reasonable estimated price?
Thank you so much! :)

I can't really tell much from those pics. Can you get a close up macro shot of the faceting?

I doubt the stone is anywhere near those specs though. When something is too good to be true...

I see. That's the best shot I could get with my camera phone :(
Btw, it's 0.56 carat.

Could it be because of the cut is not symmetrical, that's why they can give that big discount?

You don't want to compromise on cut. That's what makes a diamond sparkle. With old cuts, you can forgive a little but of wonkiness and asymmetry, but if she's giving you a discount for a D colored stone (which I would not trust anyway without a GIA cert) then I would bet anything the cut is horrible and it's a dead looking stone. Personally I would walk away because you don't have enough information. What's your budget and stone parameters? We can help you find something.
