SO HAPPY I came across this website! So many knowledgeable people and a wealth of information about these pretty rocks! I'm looking to propose *SOON* I can't afford anything near 1 carat so I've stayed around the 0.75 - 0.85 carat range, and have narrowed it down to the 5 diamonds below. I need advice as to which one I should choose since its a bit hard because I can't physically see them.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Stick to vendors that can evaluate eyeclean in a stone (so JA, Signature collection from Blue Nile) and drop your clarity to SI1. You are paying too much for high clarity.

Hm... Thanks for the advice. Looks like I'm back to the drawing board then... :read:

Gypsy! I took your advice and looks like I found 2 very likely contenders. What do you think? I'm still waiting for the idealscopes from JA. <-- Those guys have been awesome to me! :appl:

Which would you choose? The SI1 is eyeclean per JA. Below are the idealscopes.

Anyone? I'm a bit worried about the darker around behind the arrows (in the center) of the 0.8 H S1 diamond... :wavey:

Both are good. I prefer the larger diamond from the IS because it has slightly less leakage at the girdle. BUT I wouldn't buy it, I would buy the H if eyeclean, because I would rather have the higher color than the slight amount performance.

I could be wrong though. Hopefully someone else will comment too. I'm getting much better with rounds, but I'm not a round expert yet.

Gypsy, thanks for the comments. At least I wont feel like I'm talking to myself! LOL!

I talked to associates and JA and they say the H is eyeclean and has excellent reflection and brilliance, so I may just go with that one! Anyone else got anything to say? I'll likely seal the deal tomorrow morning if there are no objections. :naughty:

Thanks to everyone for your advice, especially Gypsy! I bought the 0.80 Carat H Color SI1 Clarity on a platinum ring with 6-sidestones. It is gorgeous! Below is a picture of it from JA.

Thanks again PS! Smuggys! :geek:
