Need setting ideas for cushion

Hey All. So I think we've picked the stone. See the photo below. Now we are debating on a setting. We liked the setting shown first below, but SO is afraid the cushion won't look as nice in it. I think it'll be fine, but to ease his mind, do you guys have any non halo setting suggestions for yellow gold? The stone is a .70 H VS1 cushion. I'm also putting a CAD below for one I customized but am a) waiting on pricing and b) waiting on slight refinement as well as waiting for SO to take a look at it. My edits in it *are* (promise I'm awake) horrible so please laugh and then forgive me. Thoughts? ideas? Suggestions? What would YOU do? lol!

The custom ring would have small diamonds running halfway down. The CAD makes it hard to see b/c of the rough large looking prongs on everything but we all know how CAD's are in that sense.
