I am new to pricescope (though admittedly have been combing through the forums for a few weeks now) and am currently ring shopping with my boyfriend. I am currently looking for a platinum setting for a round brilliant. I had focused my search on classic solitaires (e.g., Vatche X-Prong), but now I am really interested in settings with a slight vintage/antique look (but still quite simple in nature). I really like the following setting I found online (would get it customized for a round brilliant) and wanted to see if anyone could provide some addtional suggestions to me. Thanks very much!!!

Hi dps777 and welcome to Pricescope

you definitely found the right place to search for settings. That setting you linked is very pretty. The good news is antique type settings are popular right now so many vendors will have similar settings as stock settings so you probably won''t have too hard a time finding one you might like. Have you gone to any jewelry stores to try on rings in person? many times what we see in pics will look completely different on us so I''d also recommend doing that if you haven''t already..

Thanks for your response. I have tried a few basic solitaires on in the stores. My sister has an antique ring and I have tried it on several times and have always enjoyed wearing it! :-) I plan to head back to some stores to look at some platinum settings with vintage/antique accents. I suppose I could always get something made off of a picture, but would be great to find it already made.

well there are a ton of settings out there. I''d check the websites of some of the popular vendors here to get some good ideas, GoodoldGold, Whiteflash, Engagementringsdirect, Winfields, james allen and Pearlmans to name a few. All have excellent reputations here.

Thanks again. I have scanned all of those sites (per all of the suggestions on here) and found a lot of options while I was solely focused on basic platinum solitaires, but now looking again since I am looking for something with a bit more flare. It definiely keeps me busy!
