Not sure if this is the right place to post my question, but I''d like to get some advice from you great people at PS. I''m looking to get an e-ring for my girlfriend. I''m looking to get a round cut diamond anywhere in the 0.90-1.03 ct range, D-F color, VS2-VVS1 clarity.

I''m not sure how much the difference in carat will make a difference in the appearances amongst these 3 diamonds. I''d like the diamond to look big but it''s not the most important thing, esp. if the difference between 0.90 and 1.01 is slim. I just want the diamond to look amazing in a solitaire setting. How will the Whiteflash 0.90/E/VVS2 diamond compare to the higher-carat F diamonds? How important is it that the diamonds at WF are in-house? The diamonds from Blue Nile are tempting me but it makes me less confident that they aren''t in-house and only provide GIA certificates. On the other hand, the aforementioned diamonds at BN seem to be a better deal. Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated!!

BN signature ideal are their in-house stones. Usually good, but no way to judge if they are H&A from the images BN provide.

BN Signature are normally good diamonds, need the crown and pavilion angles to know more on those please. The WF diamond has great potential, do you have the images for that one ? A point to mention, WF have a generous upgrade policy should you ever decide you want to get a larger diamond, BN do not allow for upgrades.

Are you looking for a ' true' h&a cut or just a very well cut diamond?

I''m just looking for a very well-cut diamond. Is there a big difference btw H&A and well-cut non-H&A? I can''t decide if I even want to go into the 1.0+ carat range. I''m not sure how much color and clarity I should sacrifice! Is it worth it? Trying to stay around $7k. I basically just want the diamond to look marvelous with the naked eye up close (in solitaire platinum setting). I know cut is very important. Thanks for your advice.

Here are the dimensions. How would these compare to stone-cold11''s WF suggestions? He made some great choices.

Not much difference between a H&A and a well cut non-H&A.

As long as it is eye-clean, you won''t see a difference between an IF or an eye-clean SI1. Just ask the vendor to verify that it is eye-clean to your standard. You will unlikely be able to tell the difference between an E and a G color once the stone is mounted, unless you are very color sensitive and knows what to look for.

You do realize that you can get pricescope discount and with bank wire, the total of the WF ES 1.01c F VS2 is priced at $7367?
