I''ve been lurking on this site on and off for awhile. I currently own an AGS tripe 0 .80, table 54, depth 62.6, crown 34.5, pav 40.7, F SI1
I am thinking of upgrading, so i stopped in to my jewelers to look at stones for size only, not to buy. I looked at a stone that was:

AGS
1.32 G SI2 eye clean
table 59
depth 62.7
crown 35.5
pav 41.2

$7200

i really thought the stone was beautiful and was suprised when i found the numbers. the price is not really the issue..my question is can you love a stone that''s not "perfect"? I''m afraid the numbers are taunting me!

i Have looked at the stone twice and will be looking again today i am shocked at myself.. i am thinking of trying it.. i can always go back to my ideal cut if it drives me crazy. Your thoughts I appreciate. Thanks!

Sorry, forgot that the polish and symetry on the 1.32 are excellent and the cut grade good. GIA cert

Did you compare it with AGS stones with great numbers? If not, I would. If you did, and you stll love it, then go for it.

But I''ll be honest, I personally would pass on it.

I''ve compared it to my stone, but not to a stone with much better numbers in a larger size. I know it shouldn''t but it looks great to me.

Well, sometimes the numbers do defy what they should mean.

I would do a bit more comparing to be sure. And make sure this is all way from the jewelry lighting.

Then, if you still love it, you may have found your stone. And like you said, you can alway switch it out for another.

Good luck, and let us know what you decide!

Just a thought here, good diamonds look great in the store. They are under intense lighting and they are super clean.
How will this diamond look in different lighting? Also, as suggested, compared it to other Well cut diamonds of comparable size in different lighting. And if you still like it, buy it!!!

Personally, I think the numbers mean something to you. If you want the Mercedes of diamonds, dont buy a Ford thinking you are going to get it!!!

Good Luck and let us know what you decide.
