Need Opinions on This Diamond

Okay, so previously I put up three diamonds that I wanted to get for my gf and chose one of the three. Problem is, both my parents and her parents think I am spending way too much on the engagement ring. So I found another diamond and was hoping to get some opinions about how good it is.

I ran it with the cut advisor and found that it was pretty good and everything else that I saw looks fine, but I would like to get help from the experts!

Hi jc,

It's a lovely diamond. But to be honest, unless you have reasons for such high clarity, it's really not necessary. You can definitely go down. Here's a VS2, which would be more than adequate. It's a bit bigger too, which will be noticable in sizes under 1 ct.

You could even find an eyeclean SI1, there are many in this size and price range.

Pretty much every ACA is going to score really well on HCA...

I agree to drop down the clarity and kick the size up a few notches.

If you''re old enough to be getting married, then I think you are old enough to decide how much you can spend on an engagement ring. Set a realistic budget and stay within it. There is no need to share your budget with anyone. Although, if you''d like to share it with us, we''d be happy to help you get the most for your money.

That being said, I would hate to see size lost on clarity, one you can see -- the other you can not! G, VS2 would be a VERY nice diamond!

Would this one be a good pickup or are there even better deals?

jc, that''s a nice one too.

Let me ask, how low in color and clarity are you willing to go? If we know that, it would help in looking. If you went to H, which will still be white, and/or down to an eyeclean SI1, you can hit the 1 ct. mark.

Wink has some possibilities if you are easy with the color and clarity combo's: AGS0, H & A, and branded stones (cut by Infinity) at any rate. Not sure of availablity of the 1.07 H SI2.

I think it would be alright with my gf if the color was down to an H, but I think she at least wants a VS2 for clarity.
I''ve taken a look at most of the diamonds and they all look pretty nice. Looks like its going to be a lot harder trying to pick one out now haha.

Well, wouldn''t ya know, not any H VS2 in your size.

I''d go for that G VS2 from WF. Nice diamond! And I think ES get 2% off.
