I''m thinking about buying this diamond.. and would like everyone''s opinion.. i can''t get any Idealscope image from the vendor but this scored a 2.4 on the cut advisor...

here''s the GIA number: 17454065

its a 1.50 diamond

Maybe from the numbers, but definitely check eye-clean and performance issue from the SI2 internal graining.

thanks Stone Cold - I saw the stone - the only thing that concerns me is the feather in the diamond --does it matter the placement of where the feather is? also, what kind of impact could that have and should that deter me from buying? .. otherwise its eye clean...

No way to tell. Ask that the stone be sent to an independent appraiser, whom you paid for, to have a look at it and only buy when everything checks out is the safest.

I would be cautious with that angle combo, it is entering what we call steep deep territory and light leakage could be a possibility. Definitely get an appraisal from an appraiser who is skilled in evaluating cut and has Idealscope and ASET they can use to check out that angle combo, surface graining and the feather you mention.

Its hard to say, I would advise caution with this diamond due to the angle combo, it is possible that there is light leakage and as it isn''t cut as effectively as it could be, this could be part of the reason for the price.

If an appraiser thinks it is a good deal then you should be set, especially if they have skill at evaluating cut.
