Hi,

I have been shopping for a diamond and am currently thinking about the following. Any help is appreciated:

Round Briliant
1.62
E color
VS1
Cut Grade: Excellent
Polish and Symmetry: Very Good
Measurements: 7.47 - 7.51 x 4.66 mm
Table 57%
Crown Height - Angle 15% - 35 degrees
Pavilion Depth - Angle 43% - 40.7 degrees
Girdle thickness - Medium to SL. Thick (Faceted)
Culet: Pointed
Fluorescence - Very Slight

They told me it was an IDEAL cut not just excellent but I don''t have the depth% as I am trying to figure out the HCA score and was hoping someone could give me a hand or provide any other feedback on the quality of this stone. I am also not sure if I should just try and stick with a heart and arrows diamond. Will that truly make a difference as I know the VG Symmetry and Polish means it is not a H & A? I am trying to get the a really nice diamond and am willing to spend close to 20k just for the stone. Any advise as I want a colorless diamond and willing to go as low as VS2.
Thanks

your depth percentage is 62.2% 4.66 mm divided by 7.49

lab graded symmetry (meet points) is not the same as optical symmetry (h&a)
they are not dependant on each other. you can have ''ideal'' lab graded symmetry without h&a. likewise, you can have h&a and less than ''ideal'' symmetry.
don''t just buy based on what someone *says* is ideal. it is a non standardized buzzword used liberally in the industry.
there is only one lab that grades diamonds as ''ideal'' and that lab is ags.

Okay, based on that information it is showing up as 1.4 for HCA (unless I did it wrong).

It is an Cut grade of excellent and under the comment section it says "ideal cut round brilliant" - it says ii right on the lab report. Unfortunately I can''t scan it to show you.

Any opinions on the quality of the stone based on all the information? I am trying to determine if this is truly a diamond to behold or whether I can do better.
