My boyfriend and I have been looking for settings for the past few months. I am VERY indecisive and would like some input from you all. The diamond we have is a 1.74 round, I think transitional cut or round brilliant , I am not sure it has not been appraised it is a family diamond. Anyway I have three styles I am currently thinking of, in no particular order....

1) A platinum ring with tapered baguettes...size of baguettes, .25- probably a thin- medium bandwidth
2) Platinum ring with small round sidestones next to larger stone.09 -.15 and then tapered baguettes of about .25 in size
3) A round diamond prong set pave band with about .32 diamond weight, with microwave on the basket.

I will attach photos of 2 and 3 , as I think 1 is pretty self explanatory. One is a pic I found on another website of someone's ring, so it is NOT mine....the other is link : off ritani and it is what i like but I would probably wont prong set instead of milgrin. I would get it made.

I would likely want a thin-medium band size. Give me suggestions, or ideas. I usually don't go online for advice but my friends, family, and boyfriend just say they like whatever I like. Everytime I change my mind my boyfriend says he likes that one best too..lol <3

BTW I am leaning towards number two....

@Gypsy

I don't know. I do like that that ring seems a little "cleaner" with it's lines than other pave bands. I do like it, but I am not sure!! I guess I am kinda stuck on number 2....What do you think about the ring in the photo? err.. this is what i mean about indecisive. Everything is so pretty. Maybe I should just let him decide at this point. I can just let him know what I like. I do not think I would be unhappy with any!!!

With number two I kinda feel like the round sidestones are an in between size. They are two small for a three stone look but too big for just melee stones. So for that reason I'm not a fan. Every time I look at it I want to either make the sidestones bigger or smaller. But that's me, and my personal opinion. Which doesn't mean squat as it will be on your hand. If you love it then you should get it.

BTW... did autocorrect change micropave into microwave for you? =)

I just noticed this too

Get what YOU want. It sounds like you like the #2 option, get that. I personally prefer 1 or 3 of your selections. But this isn't my ring.

Be sure you take into consideration what type of wedding band you want. Its hard to find wedding bands that match up with
baguettes unless you get the matching band with matching baguettes.

I think all of these ring designs are very classic and elegant where you couldn't go wrong with any choice you make. I would have a hard time deciding, too! One thing I noticed is that the rings with the baguettes look like they have a higher profile, so you might want to think if you'll like having that. Also, as a previous owner of baguettes, I found that because they don't have the faceting of a rb, they don't sparkle as much and show the dust and dirt more easily. I was constantly cleaning my baguettes! Only because of that, if had to choose, I would probably go with the Ritani. However, you need to decide which one knocks your socks off the most! Good luck, and let us know which one you decide to go with!

Thank you for your thoughts. Gypsy-i know what you mean about the size if the round side diamonds. I am imagining that they would be smaller than in this ring , as the ring in the photo has a smaller center diamond, and I would get the side round diamonds even smaller than this pic. I guess I would like them set in the band and then have tappered baggeuates down to the middle of the ring. Maybe it won't look good...idk. Don't have much of a visual mind :twirl: maybe the small rounds would look better after the bagguette maybe the whole idea is just UGLY

It seems like you all do not like option 2 . I guess I just like that it is different from most people I know, but not too crazy. I feel like everyone has a round with pave band. Which I guess must mean it is a good look though!

I told my bf maybe we should stick with option 3 as it was my original choice, but he seems to like this ring, ring 2. He really wanted me to get a three stone originally so I guess this is a compromise.

Also I am kind of worried by we prob would not order the ritAni we would have something similar made and it might not be as pretty

I want you all the keep being honest! Thanks. And feel free to link any settings you think I would like.

Oh yes and autocorrect gets me every time,
