ASET looks good, somewhat tilted.

Do you have the Idealscope image too please?

ETA - I see it is on its way.

IS looks good too.

What should be a fair price tag on it?

WF''s pricing is competitive based on their service and upgrade policy.

Its a lovely diamond, the optical symmetry is a hair off but you would never notice this in reality.

I wasn''t asking about WF''s or JamesAllen or G.O.D. or BlueNile''s price. I understand that all these shops are competitive.

I would like to know it from your point of view, what should be the range of price on this diamond.

That I do not know because I am not in the trade. I just search the database for a similar specs stone. Each jeweler will price a stone according to what he deems is worth it for him, too high it will not sell, too low he will be making a loss.

Let''s forget about the jeweler''s price.

From the specs and the images, this one seems to be a very good stone. Based on that within what price range should a consumer be able to afford it?

I am not a jeweler, polish diamond price fluctuates depending on supply/demand, so what is the price now will not be the price in the future. I can only compared it with what is of similar specs of what other vendors is putting up there. It is going to be less than what is available in the B&M store.

And what is the point of this exercise? WF will not bargain because of the low margins they are already operating in, you will get at most PS and wire-transfer discounts.

Now I really want to know whether apart from understanding the Cut Quality/Idealscope/ASET Images, you (or Lorelei) also know the price judgements and semantics for a diamond, and determine the worth of a diamond.

Taking this into beating the dead horse territory, why do you care? Stone-cold and Lorelei are right, it's a lovely stone and prices at WF will be competitive, whether or not they can quote rap listings doesn't enter the equation. It's still a lovely stone.

1. Why shouldn''t I care about the price if I am spending it from my pocket.

2. I merely wanted a fair price assessment from the Cut Guru''s, independent of the price from the vendor''s.

3. Why is everyone trying to convince, "Hey, look, what you got on that vendor is right".

Maybe one of the appraisers who posts will see this, and could give you some better idea.

I assume you''ve price-checked against Blue Nile? Expect BNs prices for the same "type" to be slighty lower, though, than WF list prices - they usually even out (or more!) with the PS discount, though most PSers find the comfort of having images/sarin to be worth a bit extra anyway.

Good luck.
