I haven't seen the diamond yet, but was told the diamond is eye clean.

The price quote is $28,200. I think it is a little high. The problem for me is that I am trading in an old engagement ring to the original jeweler who is giving me a credit equal to the original purchase price. I think if I take the original ring to anyone else as a trade then I will get less than the purchase price so maybe the price comes out in the wash. Thanks in advance.

This is important for price comparisons... who certified the stone? GIA? AGS? EGL? IGI?

GIA

I'm a noobie here, but I think that I found your diamond online at other vendors for less than $26k (when it was still available to be bought online around Aug 31st -- sometimes the same diamond is listed by multiple vendors). Just to confirm, does the GIA cert # end w/ a "56"?

Of course, different vendors have different policies, level of service, and reputation , so not everything is apples-to-apples.

That's the one. I looked at it yesterday and it is eye clean, which is surprising for SI2. I decided to buy it even though it is a little more because I determined that another jeweler would give me a smaller credit for the current ring. Figure it all comes out in the wash. Plus I am crunched for time.

I compared it to a g vs2 and the diamonds look exactly the same without a loop. I will use the difference to buy my better half a nice wedding gift.

Thanks everyone for your help.

congrats.
