I am so happy to have found this forum as my prior experience with buying my wife''s engagement ring from the Diamond District (57th Street) here in Manhattan. I was not well informed (despite reading about buying diamonds and the 3 C''s) and am certain I got screwed. To add insult to injury, my wife hardly ever wears her ring.
Well, we are now rapidly coming up on our 10 year anniversary and I want to buy her an Eternity Ring with round diamonds all around.
My budget is approx. $5K. I know there are many variables involved in the quality of stones, but is a reasonable total weight to expect for decent stones for my budget?
I plan on visiting GoodOldGold and ERD. I was also referred to some jewelers at the TriCounty Flea Market in Levittown NY.
Any help would be tremendously appreciated.
