I am curious about the basic function of spacer bands. I was under the impression they were used for people with a irregular shaped erings so that a wedding band could sit flush....however a woman at work has a set similar to mine and she has a VERY small band inbetween her ering and wedding band, she said her jeweler reccomended it to her so they wouldn't bang into each other on her finger. Mine, as they are, sit flush enough for me however they do move around quite a bit and clink into each other a teeny bit. I had thought of possibly having them soldered but I like to take the ering off when I sleep/shower/do dishes. Should I invest in one of these spacer bands? Are they just really small bands? Like could I go out and get a 2mm plat band and just place it inbetween my wedding band and ering or are they something custom made? Heres is a pic of my wedding set to give you all an idea of how they sit:
