Which one do you think is a better diamond for the money. The picuture of the E looks nicer to me. But I''m not good reading the Reports.

0.726 ct F SI1

0.708 ct E SI1

I actually like the F a bit more on the ASET, but they''re both nice!

Definitely the F for me too.

I talked with James @ White Flash. He said that the F did have a better ASET but that the E looked brighter in the photo. He said either way both of them would be a good choice and that it was up to me. He felt that if I could go up to E for only $7 more that it would be worth it. But he said that you can''t really tell the difference between the two and if you put them side by side you wouldn''t be able to know the difference, except that the E would be cleaner in light.

Now it''s a toss up. I have to figure out which one I want to order. I would like to place my order within the next day.

Thoughts of the E over F?

For 7 dollars difference and no performance difference (both good), if eyeclean, get the E!

I though you said "I actually like the F a bit more on the ASET,". LOL! But really.. if you have to pick one of the two to be your diamond on you e-ring and you have tons of knowledge of what''s good and what''s not, which diamond would you want.

I was talking to my mom earlier today and she''s not a diamond expert and has a hard time understanding how to use the internet and understanding new things and was able to read the ASET and said that the F looked better than the E because the E was darker on the Edges when looking at the ASET. I was like WOAH! Mom was able to figure that out. So I''m so stuck. Get the F with better ASET or E? I really don''t know which will look better and I really want to get her the best diamond that I can afford.

I really want to place my order soon because I don''t want to risk losing a diamond and having to settle for whatever is left if someone buys one of the other two.

So I ask PLEASE everyone Voice your opinion and help me make the right decision. Buying this diamond plays a very important role in my next chapter and I want to make sure I do this right. Because this will be my one and only time proposing... and I want to give her the best, with my options of course. Later I can add side stone or we can upgrade to a larger stone. But she has waited 6 years and I have been looking for 6 months and my heart says I can''t hold out and keep looking. It''s time and I need to move forward.

I think the ASETs are really great in both (were these the 2 I suggested from WF?). You're not likely to notice a performance difference at all. So it's a really tough call. The spread is nearly identical, they're almost perfectly square, there's no extreme girdle issue (extremely thin or extremely thick on either one). So I'd probably get the E, all else (including price in this case) being equal.

ETA: Took a peek at the inclusion plots. Neither of them are overwhelming, but the inclusions of the E are a little more central than the inclusions of the F. This may not be an issue at all...just verify with WF that both diamonds are eye-clean to your standards. For me, this would include a 5" viewing distance from all angles (sides as well as face up) because that's the closest I can comfortably look at a diamond without my eyes going bonkers.

I vote for the E.

I did, but I also knew these two were close, and that in real life there may not be a difference. Your conversation with the rep confirmed this! So I would still vote for the E. It''s fine!

(if eyeclean to your liking)

I called back again and had another person look at both of the diamonds side by side. I was told that on both of them you could see inclusions @ 10" away on the sides. But that both are eye-clean from the top. I was told that people don''t normally looks at the diamonds from the sides so that it should be fine and that once set you shouldn''t be able to see any of the inclusions through the diamond from the top.

I was told that the inclusions on the E were dark and white on the F. But I was recommended to go with the E based on the color and from what the rep could see. I was told that the 2 are so similar that it''s hard to say which one is better.

I''ve never bought a diamond, nor have I bought one without seeing. Personally I''m feeling nervous buying the diamond knowing that you can see the inclusions on the sides. I never really say any big inclusions on the diamonds i saw in person while shopping, but they were all 50% more in price. I''m thinking this is going to be the best deal that I can get.

I''ve decided to go with the E.

What do you guys think?

I think the E is a great choice!

Does that sound about normal? Being able to see inclusion on the sides @ 10" away? Typically would anyone see or think to look at the sides when looking at the ring/diamond? Like maybe her friends & family members?

I just don''t want people to think it''s a good diamond and then see the sides and be like.. damn that''s nasty.

Yes that can happen as clarity is graded face up, the side views aren''t taken into consideration. The question is will it bother you or the lady who is wearing it if you can see an inclusion from the side? It isn''t likely to be noticeable to the casual observer but if you don''t like the sound of it then maybe you might be better looking some more or going for a higher clarity grade.

I''m taking the chance that it will look perfect! Order placed and I should have the ring in my hands by next Wednesday. I will let you know how it goes.

Thanks for all the help.
