Hello, all.
I almost posted this in WWT, but I didn''t know if it was appropriate (as I do not post in WWT), but I''d like some help with Yoga.
I''ve tried Yoga off and on for a few years. I just found a television series that I really like for Yoga. It teaches the basic poses and then does a workout every half hour show. (which is good for me).
My questions are: I know with Yoga, your movements are supposed to be slow and controlled, but if the movement is based on your inhale and exhale, should I speed up the movement to match my quicker breaths (because I''m in no where near the shape that the instructors are!)?
Also, how do you know if you''re overworking during the actual workout. I''ve been doing it for a week and I don''t realize that I''ve overdone it until I''m sore.
Last question (for now), are there some basic movements that I could continue to do during commercials? I really like the meditation of Yoga, but as soon as I get centered, there''s a commercial and my mind wonders. Then I have to throw in laundry or take something out of the freezer and I have to get re-centered. In the series I''m watching, they''re doing "link" poses that are gone back to between each set of poses. Should I just keep doing the "link" again and again??
Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA!
