Need help with what to wear to races tonite

We are going to the racetrack for dinner and horseracing tonight and I have no idea what to wear. My husband said "nice casual" but when I asked for further enlightenment he shrugged his shoulders. So I'm thinking dressy jeans, a nice shirt and jacket or sweater because I am always cold.

Do you have a nice shawl you can fold up and tuck in your bag? I love how they are functional, yet add a nice accent, and look so pretty draped over shoulders.
