Hey all,

I've been doing a crash course on diamonds and reading alot about it on here. I have been looking at local jewlers as well as on blue nile and whiteflash etc. Seems that BN is more expensive than WF but WF has some room for negotiations?

Please comment on the below 3 diamonds. I won't tell you where each one is from at first

Diamond #1 - US$22,336 - 1.558 carat

All opinions welcome. I only have pictures of one. They're all "IDEAL cut" or the top line cut from their respective sellers

This is somewhat urgent so all posts appreciated! :D

Can you add color and clarity specs?

Ahhh how did I miss that

They're all G VS2

IMO based on the numbers they all look promising. Which lab graded these stones? Have you seen any of them in person? Do you have images of the stones? I'm afraid without more information there's not much we can comment on specifically.

In general, stones with higher crowns tend to display more fire vs brilliance, and stones with lower crowns tend to display more brilliance vs fire. AGS/GIA VS2 clarity is most likely eye clean in this size range, but inclusions may be visible at 3-6 inches depending on lighting and angle, especially if the inclusions are not clear/white.

Based on the IS images I don't think you can go wrong with any of them, although I would not pick #4 considering that you have other cleaner looking options.

Does one vendor carry an exclusive setting that you prefer? If not, I would probably just pick the cheapest one.

Well 4 of them are from whiteflash and they're of varrying carat sizes. But I am giving the good old gold one a try

I am tempted to go with #2 - but anyway, blue nile is cheaper but again I don't have pictures

What setting are you planning on getting? It's far easier to get a stone and setting at the same place. Both WF and GOG have incredible stones and the one's you linked look great. So, it would come down to the setting for me.

Putting it in a 6 prong tiffany setting -

The GOG stone is fine. I would never choose between the others without the numbers. You need to compare diameters, cost, inclusions, etc. Nothing whatsoever is wrong with the idealscope in #4 other than I'd want to be sure it is eyeclean. I am confused as to whether any of these are the ones posted in your original post or second list.

FYI--BN offers a 4% discount to Pricescopers.
