Need Help with Pricing E-Ring Urgent

Hello everyone, my boyfriend and I have been searching for an e-ring for the past two months and I think that I have found the one! I have been a PS member for a while and wanted to get everyone''s opinion before buying the ring, so here it is. It is a 1.51 Emerald Cut Diamond D Color VS1 Clarity Cut Symmetry and Polish are all rated Good, GIA certified, I can''t remember the table and depth percentages exactly but I know they fall somewhere between 61-68%, the l-w ratio is about 1.31 (I prefer the square cut as I will be setting it east-west instead of vertical similar to Kate Beckinsale''s ring) The color and steps are gorgeous but I just wanted to see if I am getting a fair price or if it could be further negotiated. The jeweler has it listed at a $16,500. Any and all advice is appreciated!

If you go to the home page on PS, you can price out diamonds with similar specs to yours to make sure the price you are being quoted is reasonable.

eta: The price you were quoted does seem a bit high. Although you are really paying a premium for that "D" color....

Thanks Dani! I will definitely post pics when I get the e-ring!!! I guess I am just worried because it is such a big decision. The jeweler has been very attentive and is reliable, however some of the prices online are around $3,000 cheaper, so I just want to make sure we aren''t getting a bad deal. He mentioned that he could also work with me on trade-ins as well.
