So this weekend we went to the crazy Macy's and Nordstrom's shoe sales in San Francisco on and near Union Square. We didn't find a single pair of shoes that would work!

We're looking for dyeable shoes with a jeweled type do-dad on them or silver leather shoes. What we would prefer not to do is have to order them online or we'd like to at least try them on locally since one of my BM's has an issue with her foot and we're having to be somewhat picky about the shoes.

I've done http://www.bellissimabridalshoes.com and blue tux, as well as zappos (she liked this pair for example: http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/36176660/c/51117.html) or any wider variety of Nina shoes. We saw some Nina shoes at Macy's. We also hit up Aldo shoes on Union Square....

Anyways for all of you local ladies can you point me to some stores we can walk into and try some dyeable or silver leather bridesmaid shoes on at? I mean we COULD order them online if its cheaper but if we can find a place that we can try them on in person that would be a huge bonus. We also wnat to keep them in the 100 or under range if possible. Maybe 125. No Jimmy Choo, Manolo type situations here. So no we can't go to Barney's.

I'm wearing these for my shoes, so I don't necessarily want them to match me just to compliment me. They were thinking they'd get dyeable shoes that would be magenta to match the sash on their dresses.

Thanks!

Your best bet really is the internet for dyeables. If you really want to go to a B&M store tough, try forget me not bridal. I don''t know about their selection, but they do carry shoes in store.

I wish I could help violet. But I''m stumped. Did you post on the Nor Cal board?

I can''t seem to help with this shoe question...

If there are shoe issues, maybe you want to talk to someone at Nordstrom, since they specialize in harder to find sizes/widths. My shoe guy, David Scott (works in Salon Shoes @ Union Square) goes the extra mile and has worked really hard for me. One time, my fiance and I were looking for shoes for his sister''s birthday. We found a really cute pair, but she''s got tiiiiny feet! We asked another salesperson if they carried the Kors in a size 4, but was told they didn''t come that small. She didn''t even bother to check. However, when we talked to David, he checked and found the size 4! Since they didn''t have it at their store, he had it shipped directly to her from a different Nordys. David used to work in Women''s shoes, so he might recommend a good salesperson there, or else, he might be able to help out your problem if you state your parameters. Just let him know that he came highly recommended
David also does really well to bring different shoes that you would never think of.

Now when I finally get my initial venue and gown style down, I''m going to pay him a visit to look for my wedding shoes

Another thing - Nordstrom has a very generous return policy, you can always order online and return them to the store if it doesn''t work out.

I think I''ve seen some at DSW.

Nordstrom can definitely work with you on dyeables as they do sell them and they can order them into the store for you to try on with no obligation. One thing to remember with the dyeables is that they can actually shrink a bit after you dye them so make sure they aren''t too tight in the plain white.

Are you absolutely set on them having the same shoes? We did different shoes in the same color because my girls all had different issues, but they also wore different dresses.

Also, on the low-low end, Payless carries dyeable shoes! They have lots of sizes too.

I''m not set on having the same shoes per se, but I only have two bridesmaids so at that point it seems like it won''t matter for them to match.

Who does the actual dyeing by the way? the store you buy them from? Good tip on the shrinkage!

Usually you have to go to a shoe repair/dyeing place.

This is not a local shoe store and probably totally unhelpful. But I''m kind of a lazy shopaholic, so I like ordering numerous pairs from Zappos and then just sending back the ones I don''t want. Since they have free shipping and free returns.

Was recently too lazy to go to a store to try on running shoes so I bought 4 pairs in different sizes/brands/models and I''m sending 3 back. Might be an option so your friend could try them on but still have the selection of the internet.

I would kind of recommend against dyeable shoes and say to go for the silver ones. Dyeable shoes, while they may match the dress, are highly unlikely to be rewearable. The color is often "odd" and they aren''t as high quality for the price you''d pay for a "normal" shoe.

I really love the Bandolino brand - almost all of my work shoes come from there, and they have cute dressy styles as well. AND I just saw they have a store in the embarcadero center the other day...

check out "BRITENITE" shoe on the bandolino.com site - comes in silver, low-ish heel, and on sale for only $50!
