Need Help with Diamond...Is this a good stone?

Hi all,

It's been awhile since I've last posted. I am still searching for that elusive 1.5 carat stone in my price range (8K-8.5K). There is a contender and I am wondering if any of the experts can help. It is eye-clean SI2 but the diagram on the GIA report looks rather scary. There is no idealscope obtainable from the vendor. I'm hoping as many as possible can chime in with their opinions and many many thanks in advance!

wow, thats a busy report with just about every type of inclusion you can imagine but for that size of stone at your price I am not sure you can do better. Whats the return policy on the stone?

Why don't you contact a vendor who can call in the stone and provide an IS picture?

It does not have a very good angle combination. Check stones here (https://www.pricescope.com/tools/hca) by inputting in the angles from the GIA reports. Below 2 is a pass. The stone you posted scores a 4 which is poor.

I recently got a 1.86 J/SI2 for 10K so don't think you'll have a problem finding a 1.5 on your budget.

Another recommendation would be to look slightly under the 1.4 budget where you will find that you can really get a lot more for your budget.

Here are two well proportioned stones at the higher end of your budget (can get an additional 1.5% discount with a wire transfer). You can also ask there gemologist to take IS photos for you and give you an opinion.

Since I decided not to go with the original diamond, they've sent me 2 more to look at. Please help me decide if it's worth it to go further. They tell me that these 2 are completely eye-clean. Thanks!!!

The first scores a 1.8 on the HCA. It didn't have a GIA Cert so I found it on B2C where it was listed for ~$300 cheaper.

Honestly though, even with a good HCA score and GIA ex/ex/ex, I would be hesitant to buy without an IS picture. I would only buy it without that if it was an AGS 000. Why not have IDJ call in that stone too? I think it definitely has potential.

The 2nd one scores a 4+ on the HCA.

When you email IDJ send them the B2C listing so they match the lower price.

UPDATE: IDJ/Yekutiel was able to look at this diamond in person for me. He says that he really likes it, it's fiery, and it's eye-clean. Below is the link to the diamond and the additional images he sent me. Experts, please chime in because I think this diamond may be it unless anyone can see some major issues I've overlooked. Looks like a great stone for the money. IS and hearts and arrows look good. I would maybe ask for the ASET images as well from IDJ, as that helped me see an additional flaw in another stone, that help me make my decision on my 1.02 G/VS2 GIA-XXX that just shipped from IDJ and I should be getting on Monday.
