I''ve found a couple of stones on BN that I like, one of them was even snatched up an hour after I found it. Either way, I have found quite a few AGS0 Ideal cut princess'' in my price range. Most all are I in color, and VS1-2 in clarity. Will the I color face up white in an 18k white gold setting? I''ve also searched on GOG and WF, but haven''t had much luck finding stones that match my search. I''m a little weary of the BN stones not having ASET photos, but they are AGS0 Ideals, but not the BN Signature Ideal.

Here are my search parameters:
Princess cut, G-I in color, VS(?) to SI1 clarity, 1.15-1.3 ct, less than $6,000.

I''ve read both good and bad about Blue Nile, that they were high in price, but yet I found more stones in my search parameters there than anywhere else. It is very important to me that I get this right. Thanks in advance, PS rocks!

It might be hard to pick out a great princess on bluenile since they don''t provide any images of their stones. You might want to check out Whiteflash''s collection of "A Cut Above" princesses. Whiteflash also offers a 100% upgrade policy and BN doesn''t. If you don''t see what you want in their inventory call them and tell them what you are looking for in case they have other stones not listed.

Yes, it is hard. Is it possible to send them to an independant appraiser to have an ASET image taken? I''ve placed a call to WF, the only ACA that showed up in my search was smaller than I was hoping to find. Thanks for you help!

Since WF doesn''t have anything in their inventory for you, why not also check out goodoldgold.com and jamesallen.com. They also have images of their stones and their salespeople are helpful and friendly and can help you find a well-cut princess.

I think it is too much work to order a stone from BN, get it appraised, then imaged... and then decide to keep it. I would do that as a last resort if no one else has a stone you want in their inventory.

I think you are looking for a very popular combination. Whiteflash has "Expert Selection" which are stones that missed the ACA mark for some reason but are still nice stones with ASETS, sarins and Ideal Scope info. The one's with 4 stars are often in-house (unlike Blue Nile) so someone there can look at it and give you their opinion about inclusions and cut.

1.41ct G SI1 from WF

WF also has X-Factor stones which are like princess cut but with cut corners. Once they are set you can hardly tell the difference. They are really pretty, too.

1.15ct I VS1 from Good Old Gold

Of course, the best thing to do is work with a vendor. Many times they have stones in-house that they haven't posted yet, especially the popular combinations.

Infinity Diamonds is a cutter whose stones are sold by Winfields. You can look at the selection on the Infinity website but have to call the vendor for prices. The have a selection of stones that fit your requirements. The stones cut by ID are beautiful and they come with all the photos. I have a stone cut by them and love it.

I agree....that sounds like a time consuming headache. I will keep looking, but have emailed GOG, just waiting to hear back, but I may call them tomorrow. And I''m browsing James Allen, found quite a few to look at.....thanks!
