need help with a band

Hi folks, I just recently graduated from college and will be proposing to my girlfriend of 4.5 years pretty soon.

I really can''t afford to spend that much..right now my budget is around $2K for a bridal set.

My girlfriend has shown me what she likes. The image below is off the helzberg site. She really likes that curvy type of band a lot, but I can''t seem to find it on the mondera, blue nile sites. I''ve only seen them on the zales (I know, I know, never buy from them) and the big chain sites online.

Is there a name for this type of band and are there any online vendors that carry them?

Also, since I''m not spending that much (relatively), are the big mall stores still a rip-off?

Does she like that twisted effect in a simple solitaire, or does she want that exact look with the diamonds all over? I personally, would find a lovely well cut small pear in a simple tension setting very pretty...(I'll try finding a pic)
