Need help with 3-stone ring please

Hi, my friend just contacted me and wants my help with a 3-stone engagement ring. And I knew the first thing I needed to do was to ask the professionals

She wants a princess, radiant, asscher, quadex or cushion 3 stone. Anything in that shape zone.
Her boyfriend's budget is 5000.

She has a size 4 finger and tiny hands so anywhere from .75-.9 carat center would be great.
She wants all three stones to be the same.

I think Yssie's setting is the whiteflash 3-stone butterflies?

Any help would be great.

My research ended up being $1000 over budget...

Do you mean she wants all three stones to be the same size? And white gold or platinum setting? Yssie's ring is not going to look very much like what we can do with a $5000 budget, unfortunately.

Okay, then something like this will be the best way to go, but she may do better on price going with someone like ID Jewelry.

ok but all three stones the same shape? I am not sure the 3-6-3 prong design will work with other shape stones but there are some nice trellis designs out there for other shapes. I would narrow down the shape first-it will be much easier.

She's going to come out better probably buying a setting that has the two small side stones, so that means princess probably since round and princess are usually the two shapes you can get with preset sides for a three stone ring.

I've asked her to narrow down her shape choice and those shapes are what she narrowed it down to....

I agree it's hard to find her something she likes since it's such a broad spectrum

The JA one is great but she also told me she wants a band that tapers. Does JA do custom work at all? I have never dealt with them.

And ID jewelry, I will give them a call on Monday. But do they do custom work? Or tweaking of their designs?

They have several designer lines they carry and yes, they also do custom with CAD. But with your friends budget it will be better to stick to in-stock or Stuller/Unique Settings type settings.

Ditto gypsy. Custom prices for a three stone setting along can run a couple thousands- leaving very little for the there's stones.

Personally, I love asschers- but they face up a lot smaller so I wouldn't do with them if budget and size are considerations.

Like DS said- the best way to go with her budget would be to get a setting that includes side stones and then Get the center seperately- but that lots you to princess sidestones.
