Boyfriend and I are checking out rings through e vendors and would really like some advice from some Pricescopers who are full of great info and insight! Would like a 1 carat round that is definitely GIA or AGS certified and excellent cut. I want a white gold diamond halo setting so I'm not sure if a G color is colorless enough. I am hoping for a nice clean looking SI1. Is looking for a table between 51-64% and a depth of 58-63%. I just want a really nice sparkly white diamond that is a little smaller than what I am use to, but is a really REALLY good diamond. (had a 1.5 ct asscher 1st marriage). Any help would be much appreciated!

Welcome! G color is great! That is what I have. It is at the top of the near colorless range, and in a well cut stone, it is bright and white from the top and I cannot see color from the sides. Only next to a D or E stone would you maybe see a slight difference.

If you stick to AGS Ideal cut and GIA Excellent cut you can't go too wrong, but you'll want your table to be about 54-58 and a depth of 60-62.3. Since asschers face up small, you don't need a 1.5 ct round stone to equal the size of your asscher. What is your budget for the diamond?

Not sure on the budget yet. Was hoping to spend approx 6 to 7 thousand. Really depends on the diamond.
