Hello,
Could someone be so nice to have a look at the following two round diamonds, and give me your thoughts on how these two compare?

The first one:
GIA # 6121681637
Shape Round
Carat 0.52
Color G G
Clarity VS2
Cut Excellent
Depth 61.2%
Table 54%
Crown Angle: 34.5
Pav Angle: 40.8
Pol/Sym VG/EX
Fluor NONE
Culet NN NN
Measur' 5.15*5.17*3.16
Lab GIA
Price $1,600

The second one:
GIA # 1136818279
Shape Round
Carat 0.52
Color G G
Clarity VS2
Cut Excellent
Depth 60.6%
Table 58%
Crown Angle: 34.5
Pav Angle: 40.8
Pol/Sym EX/EX
Fluor NONE
Culet NN NN
Measur' 5.20*5.22*3.16
Lab GIA
Price $1,790

Looks like that both have very similar performances, and the HCA scores are both below 2. I am not inclined to go with the first one, because it is $190 cheaper, although it is 0.2 carat smaller than the 2nd one. Please feel free to give your comments. Really appreciate it!

hi! well i think for that minimal price difference going for the bigger one is always better assuming the performance is good and they are eye clean. are you able to ask the vendor for idealscopes on these at all?

also just some food for thought, but are you definitely keen on G VS2? you'll be able to go up further in size if you go to say a H SI1 or even SI2 that is eye clean.

#1 check report number, not finding it in GIA's report check repository?

#2 http://www2.gia.edu/reportcheck/index.cfm?fuseaction=home.showReportVerification&reportno=1136818279&weight=0.52

Numbers on both are fine and no other red flags from the info you've given us on #1 and the report on #2, we can't tell you more than that without more info - scan/pics/vendor opinion. What year is the report on the first from?

Are they both from the same vendor? If not does one vendor have a setting you prefer? Better to stick to one vendor if at all possible, and avoid transportation/insurance/liability costs and concerns..

i'll take #1 cuz i love the small table.

Thanks Yssie! Both are from James Allen. The first one has a very recent gia report (Nov 2011): could that be the reason of not being included in the gia's report check respiratory? The JA link for this diamond is here:

The second one is here:

Unfortunately they don't give out the idealscopes without me purchasing them first, becoz these diamonds are not in-house according to their explanations.

These are indeed eye clean, however I don't have access to their idealscopes currently.
Going for H or SI is a good idea,---thanks for ur suggestion.

They are both excellent stones and you should feel comfortable purchasing either one. However, as DF pointed out, there is a significant difference in table size, so your personal preference for table size will be an important factor in your decision.
