I''m trying to practice reading various reports to see if I''ve armed myself with enough knowledge to pick a diamond.

For the following stone: (gets a 1 on the HCA)

http://www.whiteflash.com/hearts_arrows/A-Cut-Above-H-A-cut-diamond-1466994.htm#

What do the dark specs on the "Hearts" image mean?

Do the inclusions listed on the AGS cert mean the stone would not be eye-clean?

And for this one: (HCA gives it a 1.1)

http://www.whiteflash.com/hearts_arrows/A-Cut-Above-H-A-cut-diamond-1445148.htm#

What does it mean when the edges of the hearts seem to "touch" lighter spots on the ring around the hearts pattern?

Would the inclusions on this stone''s AGS cert be problematic, visually?

Thanks

What do the dark specs on the 'Hearts' image mean? It looks as if those could be inclusions, you would need to clarify with WF.

Do the inclusions listed on the AGS cert mean the stone would not be eye-clean? You can't judge whether a diamond is eyeclean or not by a grading report, the only way is to ask the vendor who physically has the diamond, and to make sure they understand your expectations concerning an eyeclean diamond.

And for this one: (HCA gives it a 1.1)

Would the inclusions on this stone's AGS cert be problematic, visually? I doubt it but the only way to know if a diamond is going to be eyeclean to your standards, and especially SI clarities is to ask the vendor.

Thanks
Also this tutorial on hearts and arrows might be useful to you!
