I purchased a satin finish 14K White Gold wedding band for my hubby to be. He fell in live with the band when he saw it and I wanted him to have it. Now I just want to make sure he got a good thing.

My first question is will the satin finish pose a problem with wear over time? Meaning, if he needs to get the ring re-rhodium plated will the satin finish pose a problem? As the ring gets scratched will the satin finish look worse than a band without the satin finish?

My second question is I noticed a scratch on the side of the ring when I got it home. With my loupe it is a pretty substantial dig in the gold but without it one has to struggle to notice hence the reason we didn''t notice while we were there). My finace said he didn''t care about the imperfection, however I think a newly purchased ring should be scratch and blemish free. There is a 30-day exchange policy at the place. Should I get it exchanged or leave it be? Thoughts?

My final question is: I purchased the ring at Timeless Diamonds on 5th Avenue in NYC. Has anyone heard of them ? Are they reputable and do people ever lie about the ring being gold. Meaning even though they stamped it 14K (It was made by their own manufacturer) does that mean it truly is?

Your replies are appreciated. I know I sound paranoid, but he spent so much time and effort getting me what I wanted and I want to return the favor...

My husband has as satin finish wedding band. Over time the satin finish has worn off. He has worn it continuously for about a year. He has never had the rhodium redone, even though it has more or less all worn off. He likes the colour it is now.

Hmm...so I guess the satin finish will eventually rub off...that sucks seeing that we will probably have to pay for it to get out back on every year or so...
