HI guys, New to the forums.

I am ready to buy an engagement ring and I've been researching a lot about the 4C's to a diamond.

I am looking for a classic solitaire with a round 1ct diamond.

My question is about this ring I found on ebay.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280843315852

It has a AGI Certification and its 1.52 ct SI1 H.

Good buy or should I stick to local dealers.

With a local dealer I can get 1.01ct SI1 G Excellent cut $4900 that's just the diamond itself.

Each has it pros or cons I just debating if I should order a ring online or instore.

Thanks guys
Stan

neither !! both are priced too cheap for a correctly graded stone. my advise is to purchase a well cut GIA or AGS graded stone from one of the PS vendors. a well cut GIA 1ct G SI1 stone should be priced in the $7200-$7400 range.

The eBay one you posted is clarity enhanced, so it's not a fully natural diamond. In general, most people don't recommend treated diamonds. It's also makes it much less of a "bargain."

What's your budget? It's a lot easier to help you out if we know how much you have to spend.

back away from that 'deal'.

Post your specs and your budget and PSers will find you amazing stones and settings to select from. AGI is not AGS (they pick letters that "look" the same) but not a quality stone.

Yep...dont buy either. Neither of them are near what they should really cost so there is no telling what you are
getting.

Yep, got me there, I though it was AGI since people recommend AGI or GIA.

I'm looking for around 1ct diamond platinum solitaire ring 4 prong.

My budget around 5-6k

One local place called Charleston Alexander, offered me a 1.01 G Si2 Excellent cut for $5553, forgot to ask if it was GIA though.
