Hi all, thank you in advance for your help. Looking to get an emerald cut solitaire between 1.5 - 2.0 carats... I''d prefer something of a little higher than average overall quality, looking to spend between $10 - 14k. Have been shown a few diamonds so far, which would you guys pick... the F color VVS2 looks like a good value but the depth and table worry me a little, and it is FAR cheaper than the VVS2 D.... please take a look at the info below... i do have pitcures but need to figure out how to post them....

Carat Col Clarity Grd Pol-Sym Price Ratio Cut Depth Table

1.) 1.65 D VVS2 GIA EX - VG $13,109 1.44 Premium 67.3 64

2.) 1.71 F VVS2 GIA EX - EX $9,916 1.39 Premium 68.1 58

3.) 1.72 E VVS1 GIA GD - EX $13,647 1.58 Good 65.1 64

I have seen pictures of ALL three and the 1.72 appears dark and does not reflect much light the other two, the "premium" cuts seem to be much more brilliant. Can anyone help make a choice between diamond 1 & 2. And please explain any benefits or drawback either diamond has? THank you... I will get pictures up as soon as i can.. thanks

Need images, ASET preferably, to judge fancy cuts. Can you request or post them up?

Hi there,

Photos of the diamonds are needed please and also ASET preferably or Idealscope images if you can get them. Also a Sarin report to get the crown height and detailed measurements would be very useful also. Once you have those then strm can take a look for you.

1.65 D VVS2 looks good.

1.71 F VVS2 regular pics look good ASET looks bad.

The biggest problem is the ASET images are not properly taken.

ask the vendor to place both diamonds in the v between 2 fingers and snap a picture.

Ask them if they can get the crown height by running a sarin or ogi scan.

The ASET on both look pretty bad but the "live" pictures look decent.

I don''t know who''s doing the picture taking, but they''re not doing their diamonds much of a favor

Those ASET are about worthless.

Hi - the person taking the pictures comes highly recommended on this website. Am I missing something?

Definetly the #2 (1.71)

The only difference is the color and your not going to see any difference from D to F. And its Less expensive! A definete plus...

and excellent polish and symmetry - and the picture is prettier :)

Can you get the crown height for both?
The D is well cut.
I still haven''t decided on the F, it looks good in the regular pictures.

Hi, I will have the crown height no latter than 10am today... please watch this thread for the info. I need to make a decision on this today, so any and all help with this is greatly appreciated. I am one who would prefer to err on the side of caution, and I believe that is the D, however the cost savings for the F is very enticing. The F just looks a little "off" to me even though it appears much bigger but is only .06 carats bigger. Confused?

I don''t know how much I''m going to be around today.

Crown height needs to be over 10%

so if the crown height is 10% or greater which would you choose?

If I had time and the vendor had a good return policy I would take a chance on seeing the F in person otherwise the D

Wow those all look great!!!!!

Vendor has a 14 day return policy... is that adequate time? I''m working with Mark at ERD if that helps

ah call Mark and talk to him while he is looking at the diamonds.
Have him tell you what he is seeing, differences between them...

He will be strait with you.

Mark has beautiful diamonds but has yet to learn how to take a good photograph.
