I''m in love and engaged (as of yesterday) to the most amazing man!!!! He was a sweetie and bought me a tiffany stackable ring for the engagement. It has his birthstone and when we have adorable babies he will get me a ring with their birthstones to stack them. Does it get any cuter?! He knows that I wanted to pick my ring :).

I am looking for a 1.5 - 1.7 carat G color SI1 clarity diamond. Budget is around $13,000.

I want this thing to sparkle first off. Cut, cut, cut (Thank you Pricescope!!)

I have seen a lot on Blue nile that look nice. The cut adviser says that they are a mix of Very Good and Excellent. Is there anything else I should be looking for? I''m a little lost and want to get the best possible diamond for the price.

Can you give me your opinion on these? And feel free to post any additional ones!!!

Thank you guys!!

Hi there! I would go with either GOG or WF, due to their upgrade policy and I have heard some customers were not happy with Bluenile''s take on eyeclean. Considering you are looking for an Si1 stone, I would stick with a more trusted vendor.

How about this one? It''s an H SI1 at just under $13k, I think you would be pushing it to make it to a G colour unless you upped the budget a tad (that''s in a really well cut stone)

$2k over budget but very nice! Not sure if you can stretch for this little beauty?

Also over budget, but bigger and an I colour, just to give you an idea of what top cuts are going for

I agree with the other posters that you might as well buy from someone with more information about the stones and an upgrade policy. JA is another great place to buy from as well. You might also check out H colored stones because they will still be very white and will save you a bunch of money.

This 1.54 H/SI1 looks very nice with only a small feather near the girdle that could be covered up with a prong and comes in enough under budget that you could buy an awesome leon setting at $10,600!!!: http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/H-SI1-Ideal-Cut-Round-Diamond-1133819.asp

Here is a 1.57 H/VS2 that comes in under budget at 11,990 with the ps discount: http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/H-VS2-Ideal-Cut-Round-Diamond-1026224.asp

This 1.45 H/Si baby is a super budget find since it''s slightly under 1.5 carats. It''s only $8560 with the ps discount and will face up about the same as a 1.5 carat stone: http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/H-SI1-Ideal-Cut-Round-Diamond-1179568.asp

That was a really great idea, the stackable rings and then picking out your own ring, I love it! Do you have pictures?
Congratz!!
