I visited Whiteflash and I am still trying to get opinions before I fully commit. I had looked at a few diamonds that were around a carat but I won't post since they have been sold since I viewed in person.

These are ones I liked. I wanted to get atleast a 1 carat, 1.25, or 1.4 because I know shed like a big rock but the price difference is a 2k jump for every .25 carat.

1.10

The one I kept on reserve, 1.28, looked a tiny bit smaller than the 1.401, but the 1.401 looked a bit more cloudy to me and something about the color stood out on the 1.28 as well. Right away when they were compared it just looked better to me.

1.401

This was the one I ended up putting down a deposit on to keep it on hold.

1.28 This was at $8,493 about 2k cheaper than the 1.401 and just looked a tiny fraction smaller. From what you guys see here on the computer, do you guys think I made the right choice? The one I picked is also GIA certified while the others were AGS.

Or if you guys see something else that looks good at the price range please point them out. Luckily for me, Whiteflash is only a 30 min drive from my work so I can look at anything in person.

Do you guys think I made the right choice?

I think the Vatche is a bit heftier in weight.

If you want something not as expensive this one that Gypsy posted is very pretty...

I like Broadway and sleek line.

You think this would overpower the stone? I saw everything posted by you in person, and frankly this looked better in person to me.

My Girlfriend has thrown hints at a high setting and I am just confused at what ladies would like the are into a solitaire ring.

I looked at this http://www.whiteflash.com/engagement-rings/solitaire/legato-sleek-line-solitaire-engagement-ring-728.htm

and this http://m.whiteflash.com/engagement-rings/solitaire/sleek-line-solitaire-engagement-ring-313.htm

and Im not sure if she would like those two or not. The 5th avenue Vatche Seemed a bit more nice with the 1 carat setting they all had.

This seemed more of her style But i felt it was too out there as far as the prong style and the prongs as they get closer to the ring.

Please Help me pick the right setting. I am trying to make the decision by Friday as I have already made a decision on a diamond.

I just don't want my girl to not be excited about the presentation.

She is also a Nurse in a public hospital so I don't want anything that would be too flashy for some of her patients that are not in the best financial circumstances.

High probably means cathedral. Which is what the Sleek line below is. This one is not cathedral. But it is higher and some. So I think I understand where you are coming from now. Are you set on a setting from WF? BGD has several that might be a better fit. And you could order the setting from them, and have them send it to WF for WF to set the stone.

This one looks like a good fit: http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/engagement-rings/solitaire/diamond-faceted-crown-18k-white-gold-5687w18

And this one: http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/engagement-rings/solitaire/the-valentine-ring-platinum-5683p
And this one too: http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/engagement-rings/solitaire/khloe-sholdt-18k-yellow-gold-5338y18

It is unusual for nurses to ask for HIGH settings. Most want low settings because of the gloves. If you can ask her directly about her 'dream' setting... just hypothetically, can you do that? I think it's probably a good idea to find out what she wants.

The WF sleek line is a cathedral, but it's not a high one (which is why it is so popular). http://www.whiteflash.com/engagement-rings/solitaire/legato-sleek-line-solitaire-engagement-ring-728.htm

Can you ask her directly? Just like play a 'what if' game?

I really personally like the way the legato sleek line looks. And she has hinted at solitaire rings and even shown me pictures of stuff she sees she likes.

I had chosen the vatche. But you convinced me to go for the legato sleek. Saves me 1k and I like it better. I was just going but what she had told me but I definitely thing the ring will come out good.

Thanks gypsy!

Here's another picture.

I just picked it up and it looks good. Hopefully she likes it.
