Need Help Pick Project. Pendant or Studs?

Hi my beloved PSers.. I need a little help with decision making. I accidentally bought a small diamond 0.288ct which I was thinking of making into a custom pendant with.
Now I wonder if I should do a custom project on such a tiny diamond or should I just get another matching diamond to make a pair of studs and wait until later get a bigger center stone for the pendant project.

The quote of the pendant project will be around $725 and a matching diamond + studs setting will be around $800
I don't have either of them and not sure which will be a better choice... help!

Oh this is so hard for me! I love my pendant but I also love my diamond studs!! Mine are actually right around the same size as yours, they are .31 for each ear. I think that they are the perfect size for my ears! They sparkle a ton and are great for every day wear. As much as I love my pendant, I think that I would go with the studs. I think that your diamond is the perfect size for them.

I know.. that's what I was thinking of too except right now my hair covers up my ears most of the times so I'm not even sure if I wear studs I will get to see them at all

I would also say studs. I'd wait and get a larger stone for a pendant.

Agreed. My studs are exactly the same size as chele162's and IMO the .3ish range is a perfect size -- big enough to have real presence on the ears but not over the top for everyday wear. I don't think a pendant of the same size would have as much impact. And I hear you on wearing your hair down most of the time, but I was at a meeting last night where at least half the women had diamond studs on and many had their hair down. Even so, I could definitely see the sparkle when they moved, tucked hair behind their ears, etc. I actually think it's a beautiful, subtle, classy look!

Like the poster above me, I wouldn't worry about your hair covering them up. I actually worried about the same thing but I do think that they can still be seen when I move, etc. Plus, I try to make an effort to put my hair behind my ears more. The only downside to earrings is that I can't see them on myself without looking in a mirror. I think that my family is tired of me always asking if my earrings are sparkling. lol.

Studs! And you can always add halo jackets or dangly enhancers - my studs are nearly your size (.26ct each), and I still love them and find they're very versatile.

Voting for studs as well. The pendant would be beautiful but I think you'd probably end up wanting a slightly larger stone in time, so do the studs now... then get jackets to make them really "pop" when DSS sets in! (and you KNOW it will! )
