Hi all,

Love the postings. Very helpful indeed. I made my first trip to B&M stores today and the diamonds are amazingly over priced from what I''ve seen online. I''ve read that w/the princess cut, its all about seeing the diamond in person so now I''m conflicted. What to do? Buy online and hope for the best or buy from a local jeweler and pay thru the nose. I found this on WF today after my unsuccessful trip visiting B&M''s. What do you guys think?

I think that stone has TONS of potential! I would contact Denise from WF (I think you can even PM her right now as she's on PS) to see what she thinks about it. In fact, if she thinks it has potential and she trusts the manufacturer I'd call that baby in!!!

Thanks researcher. After having visited a few B&M stores (Bailey Banks Biddle, Lux Bond, Helzberg Diamonds, Becker's, etc.), I have come to this hasty conclusion that I am better off buying a diamond online. The prices are just incredibly inflated! Helzberg has a one carat, G color, VS2 clarity for around $9,000!!

Ofcourse, the conflicting part is that from all the postings I've read online in regards to Princess cut, it seems like that numbers are not always a true gauge of a stone's brilliance and that its much better to view the stone in person.

In any case, the search continues....

The numbers are not a true gauge of the diamond's brilliance. However they are a great clue to the quality of the craftmanshiop in the stone and indicate what stone to consider. A legitimate Internet vendor who has the diamond in their possession can describe if the diamond is a great or medium light performer. If the cut numbers and the light performance add up then you have a super stone....

It takes both parts to get the right and best diamond.
