1)
0.81 ct round (which is not quite the ideal size)
H, VS1, Excellent cut, polish, symmetry from GIA

2)
0.82 ct round (which is the ideal size)
H, SI1, Excellent cut, symmetry, very good polish from GemScan

I realized GemScan is not very accurate, but I was able to see those 2 diamonds. #1 sparkle a little bit more, and it looks like it has better clarity/transparency. I did a few blind test and I was able to identify the better diamond 3 times out of 4. The last time I thought the cheaper one actually look better. If I am not looking at them side by side, then I can''t tell the difference. Can''t find anything unusual with the magnifier.

Now, #1 cost $4000 and #2 is $3200 with tax in CAD. I am not sure if $800 is worth it. It has a more credible cert, does look better in a side by side comparison if I stared at them for a minute. However the cheaper one still look very good by itself. Also the cheaper one has the ideal size (that''s her birthday).

If you can afford the extra $800 I''d pick #1 for the GIA cert, better clarity, and EX/EX/EX stats.

Welcome to Pricescope!

Can you post the proportions please for each diamond?

Hi, I would go with the GIA too. Better clarity and perhaps more stringent grading standards.

Ditto Lorelei - we need more info, but if you had to pick one without any other options, I would take the GIA stone.
