the limited info looks good but go G/VS1-vs2 and up in size.
Asschers do better when bigger.

The only problems is my girlfriend doesn''t want anything big, we tried on some Radiant diamond set rings that where just over .50 ct and had a diameter of 4.5-4.5 and it suited her finger size and she has very thin small fingers and doesn''t want a large diamond but loves the Asscher diamonds.

I told one of the jewelers here in Australia regarding this diamond and he told me to be cautious as the diamond sounds too good for that price, should I be too concerned with such a small cut diamond.

Or should I go for another cut diamond that will show more sparkle and fire and still maintain the same size regarding the diameter of the diamond and nothing big as I''m starting to think that with such a small Asscher diamond as the one described above I wont have that sparkle and look as compared to a larger Asscher Diamond.

All suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You do lose a lot of the look in small sizes but some people love them.
Best bet is see some.
In this case you might be better off working with a good local.

also wanted to add never ever ever buy an asscher without pictures or seeing it first.

I have sent them a email requesting pictures and they haven''t yet replied as they haven''t got the diamond in house. Soon as I get any pictures, if they do send them I will post them up on here for viewing.

The Asscher diamonds here in Australia are way over priced and a are of very bad quality.

The numbers look "perfect" but, i would suggest too not to purchase any fancy shape Diamond without seeing it first.....

Find out if the pavillion corners reach the culet (and not one step before the culet).

And secondly, the corner breaks should be approximate 1/3 in lenght from the 4.61mm. size. (wide corners!!!), other wise you will loose the visuall efect when mounted!!!

Good luck

Can you return it if it isn''t satisfactory? Might be worth the hassle, since it seems like a good price. My 1.05ct asscher is also a D vvs2 and cost $6100 if that makes you feel better... That''s a mighty expensive additional millimeter!

My asscher measures 5.81mm and I definitely can see that the asscher really shines in larger sizes (1.5ct-2ct) but what can you do if you love the asscher and don''t want, or can''t afford, that size? You fall for the asscher, get a smaller, and love it every minute of it. It''s unique and mesmerizing in any size.

Firstly I want to thank everyone for there reply. I have contacted the vendor and I should get some pictures by this Friday.

wallermama that is a beautiful Asscher Diamond pictured in you Avatar "cant stop looking at it".

I would go to a larger diamond, she doesn't want one any larger then .50-.60ct as she has small fingers and doesn't want it to be showy.

I didn't know about Preciousmetals.com.au but they are about 40 minute drive from me.

Whole ton of tilt in the photo but looks ok so far.
Can you get a couple more pictures?

Are you sure this picture is of your stone? It says your symmetry is excellent... but the pictured stone looks off to me. Of course it could be the tilt. But... well, it looks off to me. *shrugs*

Lab graded symmetry is how the facet meet points line up.
Which has nothing much to do with how symmetrical a diamond looks until you hit good or worse and not even then depending on which facet it is.
There is atleast 5-10 degrees of tilt in 2 directions in the photo which is a lot when your looking at patterns in asschers.
