Hi all,
I'm looking to buy an e-ring and have a lead on what seems to be a decent stone for a very reasonable price. I've been doing my reading and know to pay close attention the quality of Cut. Unfortunately, this stone has an older HRD cert and does not have the correct data to use the HCA tool. I plan to view the stone this weekend.. Are there any pros out there that an help me determine if this stone is a lemon by looking at the cert?

Thanks!

Also, I plan to reset the stone in a new, all 14k gold (with gold prongs), tiffany-style setting.

attachment is a little small.. here are the specifications from the certicate:

carat: 1.14
Colour: H
Measurements : 6.68-6.77 mm x 4.11mm
Proportions: very good
Girdle: Medium 3.5% faceted
Culet: pointed
Table Width: 63%
Cr. Height: 13%
Pav. Depth: 44.5%
finish grade: very good

i am far far from pro, but I can tell you the table is way too big. most here would tell you to keep ot between 55-57. according to gia up to 58 is still excellent. a 61 table isnt even in the very good category but ends up as good.
girdle and culet are good.
pavilion is also only in the good category.and the crown isnt very good either.
basically I would stay away and find a better one. if you want to keep price down go lower in color but higher in cut.
I feel like you can disguise a low color eith high quality cut, but you cant disguise a bad cut with high color. but thats just me.good luck with whatever you descide☺

Thanks for the input LaSuecia! I really wish I could make this one work.. the price is too good to resist! maybe I'll go look at it anyway.. :wall:

Remember theres a reason for the pricing ;) either way if you put your prefrences here and budget, im sure you will get lots of helpfrom the diamond gurus to help you find a really nice diamond within budget!
If you go and choose to see the stone, then if you love it, you love it! Maybe you can put it on hold while thiinking about it and perhaps comparing to the options you get on ps. Youre the one who has to be happy so its your descision but you can do better:)
