Hi, I am new to diamonds. Have been doing some research online. I have shortlisted 2 round brilliant diamonds for purchase, but do not know which is a better buy. The 1.29 ct is cheaper, but has faint fluroscence; whereas 1.30 ct has no fluorescence, but slightly more expensive. Will faint fluorescence affect price of F-coloured diamond? Which is a better buy? Thanks!

Diamond 2:
1.209 ct, GIA certified (GIA 16714194), FVS1, triple excellence, faint fluorescence.
Price: $10,000
HCA score: 0.9
Table: 57%

You will not notice faint fluor unless you are in a dark room with only UV light on. But trade might discount faint fluor.

Number wise, prefer #2.

Better buy, what is your priority?

No, it won''t affect the price.

I''m interested in seeing pictures of the 1.2 stone.

Thanks for your reply. I have only seen the 1.30 ct diamond, but have not actually seen the 1.29 ct diamond yet. Will faint blue showed up under strong sunlight or indoor light?

Is the price difference between these 2 stones justifiable? Thanks!

I am upgrading from 0.5 ct, GVVS1. So, my priority is a good quality stone for a reasonable price. Is the quality of both stones good? Will carat difference between 1.29 and 1.30 ct result in such a price difference, if faint fluoresence does not affect price? Thanks!

The sizes are 1.30, 7.05 - 7.10 x 4.27 mm

1.29, 7.06 - 7.10 x 4.26 mm

Thanks for spotting the error and providing the measurements. Diamond 2 should be 1.29 ct, rather than 1.209 ct....typo-error... :)

You won''t notice a size difference, and you won''t notice the faint flor. I would probably opt for the less expensive, both are very well cut.

If you could get an Idealscope image for each, that would help decide, so far I prefer the second diamond from the info given.
