Hello,

Looking to buy this diamond and I would love your thoughts/advice. We don't have a ton to spend but I believe this would be a nice diamond. So an f color with strong florescence. Should I be worried about the diamond appearing milky?
The HCA number is 1.4

Thank you in advance

That diamond is really too deep and makes the stone face up smaller than a 1.5 ct stone should. You really want to see 7.4mm diameter on a 1.53 ct stone. Max depth should be around 62.3. I would also be hesitant about combining SI clarity with strong fluorescence. That is when there seems to be a greater chance of a negative effect. But every diamond is different. I'd still rule this diamond out. You may as well go into the 1.4 ct range if you want a 7.2mm diameter and get a better cut stone. You'd also avoid the price jump at 1.5 cts.

I am headed to bed but will try to check back tomorrow!

I have an E with Strong Blue and there are no neg effects at all, just a little fireball!

I would not be concerned about the strong fluorescence necessarily but the stone is too deep and you can find one with better cut.

I want a diamond with a lot of fire. What is the lowest color you guys would recommend, to be able to stretch the budget. Also I have change my depth range to 60% to 62%, is that a better range to use? Thank you again for all the help!!

I usually search between 59 and a max of 62.0. My secret sauce is when you can get a 60% with a 55% table you're going to get a really nice, firey and bright stone when you can find one with a crown angle of 34.5 and a pavilion of 40.7/40.8. That all goes REALLY well together.

Lowest color I comfortably will go is a J, and I love Fluorescence. If you aren't comfortable that low, maybe go with a G or H.

Which vendors are you looking at and what's the budget? We can find you a few.

Is this one better???

AME,

Thank you. The max budget is 10,000!!!! He wants the biggest things we can get . I want good color and great cut with fire. Thank you

Fire is only observable in certain lighting, so just be aware of that. This one is better, but you still have to have the SBF evaluated with an SI clarity stone. I have also owned a diamond with SBF but it was VS1 clarity and the fluorescence was great! Get an idealscope image, too.

That third one you posted might need to be checked out for eye cleanliness--that inclusion top right might be eye visible.

This is overbudget unfortunately but would be really nice. 10,000 for a really nice 1.5ct is pushing it.
