My mother gave me an invisible set (4 princess cuts) diamond pendant from Bailey, Banks and Biddle about 10 years ago. One of the diamonds fell out recently. Since BB & B is no more I have tried to get it repaired at 2 local jewelry stores and a national one (Jared.) All have turned it down because the invisible setting is difficult to work with and the problem may recur.
Please help! I know this setting often has problems but the pendant has a lot of sentimental value and I really want to get it fixed.
Any suggestions?

I had an invisible set ring from BB&B some years back. One of the stones came loose and it was sent out by their store twice for repair and was never completely repaired to my satisfaction. I ended up trading in the ring on something else.

However, with your piece only having four stones maybe another jeweler could start again and 'rebuild' the setting. They are beautiful when perfect but when the problems begin it never seems to end. Hopefully, someone will chime in here with someone's name that can do that type of work. I had looked around on the internet way back then (prior to PS days) and had found a jeweler in California that specialized in that type of setting. Unfortunately, I no longer have their name or number.

It's not impossible - just have to find that right jeweler. Try a google search for invisible setting repairs - I think a few names come up.

Has anyone heard of them?

Are they in California? That might be the same company. I had called there and spoken to a woman that seemed very knowledgeable. I was on the brink of sending my ring out to her when I decided to trade it in. Sorry I don't have any first hand experience with the actual repair - hopefully someone else will chime in!

Sun Jewelry also sells a lot of invisible set jewelry. Maybe you could call them to inquire about their repairs - I'm sure they've had folks buy invisible set stuff that needed repair somewhere down the line - maybe they even do it?
